  there is a great series airing on pbs re: evolution.

  it's informative, up-to-date, and entertaining.

  it's on in my area all sunday afternoon (it's 8 hours altogether).

  This counterpoint is a little different from the stuff you've been reading for 28 years. I'm sure you'll be happy to find out that much of it is from scientists, admittedly with a different point of view than is being expressed in the PBS program. Many of those scientists say the probram is biased and simplistic, and doesn't even address the considerable controvery as to the actual process that exists among those who are evolutionists.

  But, feel free to watch only what reinforces your own view. Most people are happier that way.

  as long as i can remember even though we didn't vote as jw's i've always philosophically vascillated between being either a closet democrat or independent.

  i still don't vote, but when things come up in the media, i find i do have some pretty straight-forward opinions on various items.

  what parties views in your country do you seem to vibe with and why?

  the fourth paragraph on page 30 in the october 1, 2001 wt says this:.

  "getting back to paul's statement in hebrews, we note that he pointed out that "there remains a sabbath resting for the peoples of god," and he urged his fellow christians to do their utmost "to enter into that rest.

  " this shows that when paul wrote those words, "the seventh day" of god's rest, which had started some 4,000 years earlier, was still in progress.

  seeing all these different people on this board, together with varying personalities, thoughts and opinions, makes me wonder about our reading and viewing material.. take the daily news.

  if you watch tv, which news programme do you spend most time viewing and why?

  the same question as to which daily newspaper you read, plus, does your newspaper have a political bias that attracts you?

  Stafford's original book is quite good, the 2nd edition is even better. He's well worth reading and I look forward to his new book.

  some of you have read posts here, and on other forums, in magazines and newspapers, and maybe watched tv commnetary that alleges president george w. bush is less than brilliant, perhaps under-qualified for office, etc.. evidence seems starkly missing from these allegations.

  during campaign 2000, the media started painting gw as being mentally 'one can short of a six-pack.

  ' but, has anyone, and i mean anyone provided even an ounce of evidence to support this?
